My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hallauer House over the Valentine's Day weekend and had a fantastic time. The house as a whole was beautiful as well as had many accommodations to make our stay even more enjoyable. We spent a couple hours in the game/activity room and purchased the Spa package that we enjoyed every moment of. Our room was clean and very welcoming for our weekend stay. The house had many historic artifacts as well as Mr. Woodward sharing many stories and information during our delicious breakfast made by Mrs. Woodward. The location of the house is just minutes away from the town of Oberlin which is great for a casual walk round town and visiting local shops. Our stay was everything we could have asked for, and we will be recommending friends and family for future vacations!

This review is long overdue. We stayed here for the solar eclipse in April, and honestly could not have picked a better place if we tried. The property is gorgeous. The building is beautiful, inside and out. There is attention to detail in every inch of this place. The homemade breakfast was thoughtful and delicious. And finally, Joe and Susan are amazing hosts. Even though we live 6 hours away, we will definitely be back! By far the best bed and breakfast we have stayed at.

First B&B experience, and it was absolutely amazing! Breakfast was delicious, and finding out about the history of the area was a great plus as well! Our room was very comfortable, and full of amazing pieces of history as well. Everyone should have a chance to stay here!

We arrived around 1:00am after leaving a wedding. The door code was provided well ahead of time and our room was easy to find. Everything was very clean and we loved the details. We also appreciated the amenities, as there were a couple of items we forgot to bring with us. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and it was great to sit by the pool and enjoy the views of the gardens. Joe and Susan were very pleasant and welcoming. My only regret is that we did not get to stay a second night and experience all that was offered! Would highly recommend staying at 1830 Hallauer House.

This is a wonderful place! Comfortable, well-appointed rooms in a home on a lovely property. The hosts have thought of everything when providing room amenities, down to a spare toothbrush and feminine supplies. How cool is that? The grounds are charming and well-maintained, including a gazebo with comfortable chairs and a small stream and fountain. I'd have spend more time out there had the weather cooperated. Breakfasts are excellent! The hosts were able to accommodate my partner's dietary limitations (gluten free), too.

This place was so unique. Why pay over $150 for a hotel room when you can stay in a Bed & Breakfast like this place. The house was built in the 1820's, history everywhere you look inside, run by Joe and Susan, Amazing breakfast every morning, board games, cable TV, free use of the house, hot tub, amazing gardens, and so much more. Stayed here on a last minute whim when our honeymoon plans were interrupted by Debby. We have stayed in many B and Bs over the years. Joe and Susan's home surpasses them all. Breakfast was amazing and Joe provided history of the area during. We really enjoyed learning about the area from him and dinner recommendations from Susan. The best part was the yard (pool, jacuzzi and overlook). They are loving caretakers of this property and we are grateful they shared it with us. They provided so many thoughtful touches. Oberlin itself was incredible. So much history and so many good vibes. Highly recommend!

We spent an extended time at the 1830 Hallauer House, and recommend it strongly. We stayed in the Suite which consisted of two rooms, one with one bed and one with two beds. The room with two beds was very large, and all three beds were extremely comfortable. There was a bathroom with both shower and whirlpool tub for both rooms to share, and the house also provided many common areas and outdoor places for guests to hang out. There was a mini refrigerator in the room with free drinks and snacks, and Joe and Susan kept it very well stocked for our entire visit. There were also extra toiletries in case one forgot something. Everything was very neat and clean, and we felt very cared for during the entire stay. The pool in the back and the beautiful gardens were just beautiful and so so peaceful. And then there were the breakfasts! Joe and Susan provided amazing breakfasts every day with multiple courses! It was beautifully presented, and when the weather cooperated, we were able to eat poolside, which we all really enjoyed. Joe was a fount of information and kept the conversation flowing every day. They were also so kind about my daughter's dairy allergy, making accommodations for her every day! I have nothing negative to say at all. We are looking forward to returning one day and recommend it very strongly!!
